Description
Artyfile is a German-language platform offering music licences as tokenised limited editions on the blockchain. Musicians create limited editions of their tracks — each number is uniquely identifiable. Buyers acquire a blockchain-secured, worldwide, perpetual non-exclusive licence for private use. The blockchain ensures that the licence remains permanently and immutably assigned to the buyer.
Artyfile combines the concept of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) with legally binding music licences: instead of selling a pure collectible without usage rights, the buyer receives a genuine licence for private use of the track — worldwide, unlimited in time. The blockchain documentation makes the licence permanently verifiable, regardless of the platform's continued existence. Musicians can monetise their music additionally: instead of solely streaming revenues (typically 0.003–0.005 US dollars per stream), they can offer direct sales of limited editions. Scarcity through limitation (e.g. 100 editions) creates collector value for fans. All ownership rights remain with the musician — Artyfile only provides the infrastructure for licence tokenisation. The terms and conditions and licence agreement are directly accessible on the platform.
Perspectives
B2B — organisations perspective
For independent artists without a label, Artyfile offers a new direct revenue stream: limited editions can be sold at premium prices without waiting for monthly streaming payouts.
B2C — consumers perspective
Music fans purchase verifiable, blockchain-secured licences for their favourite tracks — a permanent digital ownership instead of monthly streaming subscriptions, combined with the collector's value of limited editions.
Employees perspective
Employees in record labels and collecting societies need to familiarise themselves with new digital processes and develop blockchain expertise. At the same time, administrative tasks are reduced through automation, allowing more focus on creative and strategic activities.

Implementation examples
Artyfile NFT music licences
The company wanted to revolutionise traditional music licensing and offer artists higher royalties with transparency. The goal was to reduce intermediaries and promote direct artist-fan relationships.
Artyfile has developed and launched a complete NFT-based licensing system for music tracks.
Artyfile GmbH operates a production NFT platform for music licences, where tracks are minted as ERC-1155 tokens and sold with automatic royalty distribution. For each track, 100 Limited Edition NFTs are created, sold from €96.90, and delivered to buyers' wallets within 24 hours. The system uses Ethereum smart contracts for transparent and automatic payments to all parties involved.
The system solves the problem of opaque licensing costs and delayed payments in the traditional music industry. Artists now receive 90% of royalties directly instead of the industry-standard 30%.
