Description
captivr is a German start-up that secures and authenticates 360-degree video experiences of events on the blockchain. The concept: event visitors receive personalised 360° videos of their experience — and the blockchain entry proves the time, place, and originality of the recording. This protects against forgery and creates a digitally verified proof of ownership.
captivr combines two technology trends: 360° video recording (for immersive experience replay) and blockchain-based authentication. The problem with conventional event souvenirs: photos and videos can be easily forged, edited, or misdated. A blockchain timestamp and hash of the original video irrefutably prove that the content was created at the actual event date and location. This creates a new type of digital collectible: authenticated experience artefacts. For events and theme parks, this opens up a new revenue model: visitors can purchase their personalised 360° experience as a verified digital asset. The captivr start-up was featured as "Founder of the Week" on starting-up.de, demonstrating its relevance to the German start-up ecosystem.

Implementation examples
StarTrek roller coaster 360° video implementation
Moviepark wanted to offer its visitors unique, personalised memories of their park experiences while simultaneously opening up new revenue streams. Traditional photo systems were labour-intensive and did not provide the desired quality and immersion.
As the world’s first rollercoaster, the StarTrek attraction at Moviepark Germany was equipped with captivr’s automated 360° video system.
Moviepark Germany implemented the captivr system on its StarTrek rollercoaster in 2020/2021, becoming the first amusement park worldwide with a fully automated 360-degree video solution for rides. The system automatically captures each visitor’s ride and creates personalised 360-degree videos that can be purchased as digital souvenirs. The implementation marked a significant milestone for captivr and demonstrated the feasibility of the technology in live operation at a large amusement park.
The system solved the problems of high personnel costs at traditional photo booths while offering an innovative, technologically advanced visitor experience. Automated capture eliminated human error and ensured consistent quality.
